This is a new (first time released) old (recorded in 1998) album of EDHELS, one of the most underappreciated groups in the history of progressive music. The CD contains 3 studio- and 5 live recordings, though all of them are originally written for this album. Most of the music was recorded live on purpose to show the musicians' unbelievable skills to work equally efficient both in the studio and on the stage. This is the group's first and so far the only album with vocals. All the vocals are excellently done by Jean-Marc Bastianelly, the only Italian group member whose strong voice is perfect for the album concept. The range of instrumental expression is one of the strongest and sounds as classical art-rock with little bits of fusion.
Compared with earlier projects, this album has a unique combination of
different styles, which brings a positive charge of “heavy” energy. No doubt, if “Universal” had been released in 1998, it would have become one of the best albums of the year.
