ETERNAL WANDERERS are a sympho-prog band from the capital of Russia, Moscow, and was formed by the Kanevsky sisters in 1997. Since the very beginning of their activity, the musicians have been working with complex musical structures, trying to reproduce in sound everything that they love progressive rock for. In 1998 the band gave their first concert, after which they became an essential part of Moscow's underground scene, attracting the people with the uncommonness of their live performances, by using psychedelic slide shows on a big screen behind the stage. In 2001 they for the first time attracted the attention of some recording companies, which resulted the appearance of their songs in several compilations, such as "Follow the Sun" and "Electroacoustic Music" Vol. VII and IX, presented by Electroshock Records. In 2006 the band's lineup finally stabilized, so soon after EW entered the studio to record their first full-length album, The Door To A Parallel World, which took them more than a year. Totalling 53 minutes in length, the recording features seven compositions, among which are guitar-driven instrumentals (the title track and Visions of the Lost World), epic ballads (How Long I'd Been Facing the Dark and Too Close to Heavens), classic hard rock numbers (Ride Without End and No Way Back) and a highly complicated art-rock suite (Revival). All the songs on this concept disc are lyrically uniform, telling of parallel worlds, fantastical planets etc. The band don't recognize any borders as regards style: classic art-rock adjoins an alternative sound, atmospheric textures give way to hard, metal arrangements, and so on.
