Lisa LaRue Project 2K9 is the ambitious undertaking of well known keyboardist Lisa LaRue.
The album features guest appearances from several international recording artists. The official album release party was hosted on a special edition of Frans Keylard's Rogues' Gallery Progressive Rock Podcast, Saturday, November 7th and the archived show can be heard at http://www.thedividingline.com/rg. This ambitious collaboration has garnered interest across the globe from industry professionals and contemporary rock aficionados alike. The initial feedback has been upbeat, as the album was released one single at a time throughout the year, creating momentum and anticipation for the finished product. Vocalist John Payne (Asia featuring John Payne), an industry favorite who enjoys a large, loyal following, has been a key player in the project, providing most of the vocals and technical support. A long time colleague of LaRue, he was impressed by the artistic challenge the experience provided for a seasoned professional like himself. "It has been really good creatively for me, stepping out of the box from just being in control totally on my own, producing things; it's a really nice change", he recently remarked. He calls Project 2K9 "a great achievement for somebody to do on their own, and to totally finance it themselves." Another integral member of the project team has been co-producer, sound engineer and lead guitarist David Mark Pearce (Cornwall UK- The Oliver Wakeman Band) who has done a yeoman job all around. Pearce, a prolific and well respected songwriter, co-wrote the song "There Are No Words " with LaRue. He also contributed his own tune, Tell Me Why, which will also be included on his own melodic rock album Strangeang3ls, set to be released in Spring 2010. Tell Me Why is now available from his website as a single release at http:// www.davidmarkpearce.com as well. Additional project guests include features Steve Adams (USA- guitars, ARZ), Chris Brown (USA - bass, Ghost Circus and Roswell Six); Jo DeBoeck (Belgium - vox, Beyond the Labyrinth); Geert Fleuw (Belgium -guitar/keys/composer, Beyond the Labyrinth); Merrill Hale (USA- drums, ARZ) Svetlan Raket (Sweden-drums, Timecode Alpha, formerly of The Par Lindh Project and Unicorn Digital Records performing artist Claire Vezina (Quebec - vox). LaRue is an accomplished musician in her own right. Will Alexander (Keith Emerson, Herbie Hancock, Jeff Lorber, etc.) produced her debut CD, entitled "Beloved Tribal Women". This was followed by "Children's Songs in the Cherokee Language," for which she received 2 NAMMY nominations (Native American Music Awards). Other projects were "That Ol' Sofkee Spoon", a collaboration with flutist/guitarist John 'Yafke' Timothy (Muskogee - Creek), and an appearance on the Progressive Rock Hall of Fame's compilation CD "Soundscape"(2008). She is also the recipient of the Oklahoma Music Awards' "Native American Artist of the Year 2008". LaRue was also a nominee in the "Instrumental" category for the 2008 Hollywood Music Awards. Her much acclaimed progressive rock CD, entitled "Transformation 2012" was released in December 2008. More recently, LaRue has worked with Nikki Squire's band Esquire on tracks for their forthcoming album '3.' Проект известной клавишницы Лизы ЛаРу, чей дебютный альбом "Beloved Tribal Women" произвёл Уилл Александер (Keith Emerson, Herbie Hancock, Jeff Lorber и др.). За ним последовал "Children's Songs in the Cherokee Language", за который она получила 2 номинации NAMMY (Native American Music Awards).
